The courses you purchase at AISL Academy e-Shop are provided by Invisible Thread Limited and Russell Academy (the "Course Provider"). In the course of operating AISL Academy e-Shop, AAHK collects information, including your personal data, to provide you with a variety of educational services. The provision of personal data is on a voluntary basis. However, if you do not provide sufficient information to us, we and the Course Provider may not be able to provide the requested information, products or services to you.
AAHK places great importance on the confidentiality and security of personal data. This privacy policy applies to information collected by AAHK through AISL Academy e-Shop or through your interactions with AISL Academy, the Course Provider, service providers and other users.
When you purchase products and/or services offered by the Course Provider (the “Offerings”) at AISL Academy e-Shop, your information will be received and managed by AAHK in accordance with this privacy policy. By purchasing the Offerings, you agree to the terms of this privacy policy and consent to us collecting and using your information as outlined herein.
AAHK is solely responsible for the collection and management of its privacy information. Service providers bear no responsibility for AAHK’s privacy practices. If you do not agree with the terms of this privacy policy, please exercise caution when accessing, browsing, or making purchases on AISL Academy e-Shop. If you choose not to provide certain information, this may affect your ability to access related products and services on AISL Academy e-Shop.

1. How We Collect Personal Information
After you purchase the Offerings at AISL Academy e-Shop, we need to collect and use your and the student’s personal information in the following two scenarios :
1) To provide the core functionality of the Offerings, including course access and event participation, you must authorise us to collect and use your and the student’s personal information including the following:
a. Student’s full name;
b. Name of the school the student is attending;
c. Year group to which the student belongs;
d. Contact information (phone number and email address);
e. Contact person (name and relationship with the student); and
f. Student’s identification information.
If you refuse to provide this information, you may not be able to access or benefit from the Offerings.
2) To provide you with customer service via WeCom. You may contact AISL Academy and the Course Provider for customer service via WeCom. In the course of providing customer service to you via WeCom, you authorise us to collect and use your or the student’s personal information.
You understand and agree that:
1) We will use the personal information collected in accordance with this privacy policy to enable the functionality of the Offerings.
2) There is a wide range of Offerings to meet your needs at AISL Academy e-Shop. As different users select specific products/services, the basic/additional functionality and the types and scope of personal information collected may vary. Please refer to the specific product/service functionality for details.
3) To enhance your experience with the Offerings, we continuously improve our technology. This may involve introducing new or optimised features that require collecting new personal information or altering the purpose or method of use. In such cases, we will inform you of the purpose, scope, and use of the information through updates to this privacy policy, pop-up notifications, or in-site messages, providing you with the option to consent. We will only collect and use this information after obtaining your explicit consent.
To provide better, more tailored Offerings, we will collect the following information at the following scenarios:
1.1 Course Registration
When you purchase the Offerings, AISL Academy will collect the information necessary to provide the Offerings. A confirmation email, which contains a link to the student information collection form, will be sent to you upon successful course purchase. The student’s information collected in the student information collection form will be shared with the Course Provider to verify the identity of the student in each course and handle any requests in relation to the courses.
1.2 Providing Course Recommendations
To offer better course recommendations, optimise search results, assess product compatibility with different hardware, ensure a secure operating environment, and detect abnormal account activity, we collect information about how you access or interact with AISL Academy e-Shop and correlate this information. This includes:
Based on the permissions you grant during your access to AISL Academy e-Shop, we may collect and record information about the device you use, such as device model, operating system version and device settings. We may also collect device environment information and location-related information (e.g., authorised WLAN access points and base station sensor data).
1.3 Providing Paid Course Services
AISL Academy does not directly collect or store financial account numbers or identification documents issued by government agencies, employers, or other authorities. If you choose to make a payment on AISL Academy e-Shop, you will be redirected to the third-party payment platform engaged by AISL Academy. If you are unwilling to submit the identity verification or payment information required, you will not be able to complete the payment via AISL Academy e-Shop. To process payments for paid courses, we record your payment method to facilitate refunds and other after-sales services. Depending on your chosen payment method, we share your order payment information, order security-related device information, and other necessary information required by anti-money laundering laws with third-party payment companies (e.g., Shopify, QFPay) via embedded software development kits (SDKs). We also record and display your account’s order information, such as course purchase details.
1.4 Photos and videos of students
Photos or videos may be taken during classes for purposes such as post-class review or teaching quality supervision by the Course Provider. You authorise us to have access to these photos and videos for the purposes of providing you with customer service and assisting you in dispute resolution with the Course Provider.
1.5 Customer Service and Dispute Resolution
We provide customer service via WeCom and emails. We record your contact details and communication/call records to contact you, assist with issue resolution, or document the handling and outcomes of related issues.
To confirm transaction status and provide after-sales or dispute resolution services, we collect transaction and payment information related to your chosen payment institution or method.
1.6 Security Assurance
Risk Identification: We may use your personal information to prevent, detect, and investigate fraud, security risks, illegal activities, or violations of agreements, policies, or rules with us or our affiliates (e.g., unusual traffic) to protect the legitimate rights and interests of you, other users, or us and our affiliates.
We may also integrate your account, transaction, payment, device, and log information, along with information shared by our affiliates or partners such as Shopify and WeCom with your authorisation or as permitted by law, to assess account and transaction risks, perform identity verification, detect and prevent security incidents, and take necessary recording, auditing, analysis, and mitigation measures.
1.7 Providing Additional Services
To offer more convenient, high-quality, and personalised products and/or services, we may collect your device model, operating system, unique device identifier, login IP address, operation logs, MAC address, and application list information.
1.8 Other
1.8.1 If the information you provide contains other users’ personal data, you must ensure you have obtained lawful authorisation before providing it to us. If it involves children’s personal data, you must obtain the consent of the child’s guardian before submission. Guardians may contact us via the methods in Section 9 to request corrections or deletion of children’s personal data.
1.8.2 If we use your information for purposes not specified in this privacy policy, use information collected for specific purposes for other purposes, or proactively obtain your personal information from third parties, we will obtain your consent in advance.
If we indirectly obtain your information from third parties, we will require them to confirm in writing that they have lawfully obtained your consent, inform you of the shared information, and obtain your explicit confirmation for sensitive information before providing it to us. We will also require third parties to guarantee the legality and compliance of their information sources, holding them liable for any violations. Our professional security team will apply safeguards to personal information (e.g., sensitive information reporting, encrypted storage, access control). We will protect indirectly obtained personal information with measures equivalent to those for our own users.
1.8.3 Exceptions to Obtaining Consent
You understand and agree that we may collect and use your personal information without your consent in the following cases, and we may not respond to requests for correction, deletion, withdrawal of consent, or information access:
1) To protect your or others’ vital interests (e.g., life or property) when obtaining consent is not feasible;
2) Personal information you have publicly disclosed;
3) Personal information collected from legally disclosed sources, such as news reports or government disclosures;
4) For academic research institutions conducting statistical or academic research in the public interest, with de-identified personal information in the results; and
5) Other circumstances stipulated by law.

For instance, if we reasonably believe that you have violated laws, regulations, or to protect the personal or property safety of AISL Academy, its affiliates, users, or the public, we may disclose your personal information, including details of violations and measures taken, in accordance with laws.
To provide you with customer services including via WeCom customer service account, we may share your personal information with our affiliates. We will only share necessary information and remain bound by the purposes stated in this privacy policy.
3.1.4 Sharing with Authorised Partners
We may delegate authorised partners to provide certain services or perform functions on our behalf. We will only share your information for legitimate, necessary, and specific purposes as stated in this privacy policy. Authorised partners may only access information required for their duties and must not use it for other purposes.
Our authorised partners include:
1) The Course Provider: We share information with the Course Provider which is solely responsible for all aspects of the Offerings, including the content design, preparation, delivery and quality assurance of the courses, except for administrative matters of the Offerings which are handled by us.
2) Suppliers, Service Providers, and Other Partners: We share information with suppliers, service providers, and partners supporting our business. These support services include technical infrastructure, usage analysis, customer service, payment facilitation, academic research, surveys, bug/crash statistics, login experience enhancement, and gateway number retrieval.
3) Third-Party Platforms: To enable information push notifications or sharing on third-party platforms, we share your information with third parties as follows:

These authorised partners are required to comply with this privacy policy and applicable laws, handle personal information confidentially, maintain appropriate security, and use it only as necessary for the intended purpose.
We require authorised partners to implement strict data protection measures, processing personal information in line with our delegated purposes, service descriptions, this privacy policy, and relevant confidentiality and security measures.

3.1.5 Improving the Offerings
To enhance the Offerings and provide a better user experience, AISL Academy and its affiliates may use your provided or collected information for data analysis, either independently or through data service providers, to evaluate, maintain, and improve product/service performance, conduct business operations, participate in market research, develop new platforms/products/services, and provide customer support. This information is anonymised before use and will not contain identifiable information.
3.1.6 Data Transfers
In the event of a reorganisation, merger, division, liquidation, or asset sale involving AAHK or its affiliates, your information may be transferred as part of the transaction. Your personal information will remain protected by this privacy policy until it is updated.
3.2 Transfer
We will not transfer your personal information to any company, organisation, or individual except in the following cases:

If you disagree with us providing your personal information to third parties as described above, please immediately cease using AISL Academy e-Shop services and do not make any purchases.
4. How We Use Personal Information
AISL Academy uses your information (including personal information) for the following purposes:
- Operating and Improving the Website: We strive to create and enhance website functionality for your benefit.
- Providing and Improving the Offerings: This includes enabling you to browse the website and purchase the Offerings.

We may require your written consent before using your personal data for direct marketing. - Exercising, Enforcing, and Complying with Legal Rights and Obligations: This includes responding to subpoenas, court orders, or legal processes, investigating or addressing illegal activities, suspected fraud, or security/technical issues, and protecting the rights, property, or safety of AISL Academy, service providers, or others.
AISL Academy may also seek your consent for other uses of your information and will only use it for the purposes you agree to.
5. How to Manage Your Personal Information
You can manage your personal information by contacting AISL Academy at cs@aisl-academy.com. If your request involves information controlled by service providers or the Course Provider, AISL Academy will notify and coordinate with the service providers or the Course Provider to process your request. AISL Academy will provide support within legal requirements where possible. If we cannot fulfil requests that do not meet legal requirements, we will notify you promptly. Service providers and the Course Provider are only obligated to comply with requests as required by law but may choose to honour others.
5.1 Correcting, Supplementing or Deleting Your Personal Information
If you find errors in the personal information we process, you may request correction or addition or deletion of your and/or your child’s personal information by emailing us at cs@aisl-academy.com.
These changes will apply to data storage used for AISL Academy e-Shop operations, including course management by the Course Provider. If you have purchased courses on AISL Academy e-Shop , AISL Academy will share your request with the Course Provider.
Exceptions:
- Deletion does not apply to historical activity logs or archives unless they naturally “expire” in AISL Academy’s systems.
- AISL Academy does not track or record all instances where users voluntarily provide personal information, so neither AISL Academy nor service providers can assist in locating or managing all such information.
- AISL Academy and service providers cannot delete past interaction or transaction records (e.g., purchase records must be retained for financial reporting, auditing, and compliance).
- AISL Academy, the Course Provider and service providers will retain and use personal information as required by law to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, or take other actions permitted by law.
5.2 Data Retention
AISL Academy will retain your personal information based on your account activity or as needed to provide services, maintaining transaction records for financial reporting, auditing, and compliance purposes, and to meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements.
6. Storage and Security
AISL Academy stores information (including personal information) on its own servers and those provided by companies engaged by AAHK. Service providers similarly store information on their own servers or those of engaged companies. Information may be stored in China and other countries where AISL Academy or its service providers operate. If you are located in the EU, Switzerland, or other regions with data protection laws, you acknowledge that AISL Academy and its service providers may transfer, process, and store your personal information in China and other countries, where privacy laws may be less stringent than in your region.
AISL Academy Information Security Policy
AISL Academy controls copies of information collected on its website and has security procedures to protect the information it holds. This is achieved through various privacy and security policies, processes, and procedures. AISL Academy employs reasonable and appropriate administrative, physical, and technical safeguards to protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of collected, received, stored, or transmitted information. This Privacy Policy is drafted in English and translated into Chinese. In the event of any inconsistency between the English version and the Chinese translation, the English version shall prevail.
